CANDLES

  • Trim wick to 1/3 inch before each use.

  • If your wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of soot will collect on the candle glass or nearby objects. *This soot is similar to that given off by cooking oils and is not considered a health concern (vs. soot formed by diesel fuel, coal, gasoline, etc.)

  • Failure to properly trim your wick may result in damage to glass jars or labels. We are not responsible for these damages. Extinguish a candle if the flame gets too high or too close to the sides of the container.

  • Prior to first lighting, straighten your wick. Should the wick require recentering, gently readjust to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow the candle to solidify before relighting. Please do not handle the wick directly, but with a wick trimmer or scissors.

  • When burning, allow candle wax to completely melt to edges of jar before extinguishing. The first burn should be a minimum of 3 hours. Not allowing the wax to liquify to the edge, especially when first burning your candle, will result in wax "tunneling" down the center.

  • On occasion “wet spots” appear within the candles. These spots are caused by shrinkage and air bubbles that materialize as the wax is cooling or can result from temperature fluctuations while candles are in transit. The spots are a natural result of the hand pouring process and in no way affect the candle’s burning.

  • In some instances, minuscule flecks may appear in wax due to presence of raw materials.

  • During warmer seasons, if your candle appears molten upon arrival, please leave in a cool room and allow to solidify prior to burning.

  • If you notice a crack in the candle's glass container, please discard and do not burn. A burning wick near a cracked glass jar may result in glass shattering due to fragility near high temperatures or liquified wax seeping through the broken glass.

  • To clean candle glass, extinguish flame and allow wax to cool completely.  Wipe clean with a damp cloth or paper towel.

  • Only burn your candle on a level, heat + fire resistant surface away from flammable objects.  Never leave a burning candle unattended or near children, curtains, fabrics or pets. We are not responsible for injuries or damages sustained.

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Do not leave your candle burning while you are sleeping.

  • Discontinue burning your candle when a 1/2 inch of wax remains.

  • Perform initial burn test to check for allergies. Should allergic or asthmatic reaction occur, please extinguish candle and discontinue use. We are not responsible for these reactions.
